My friend Candie adopts horses and ponies and they don't always make it. For 15 months she tried to save Patches but his time came to cross the bridge


THE RAINBOW BRIDGE

There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth. It is called the rainbow bridge because of its many colors . Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows , hills and valleys with lush green grass.
When a beloved pet dies , the pet goes to this place . There is always food and water and warm spring weather . The old and frail animals are young again . Those who are maimed or sick are made whole again . They play all day long .
There is only one thing missing .They are not with their special person who loved them on earth . So each day they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks
up . The nose twitches ! The ears perk up ! The eyes are staring ! And this one suddenly runs from the group barking happily for whom she sees !
You have been seen and when you take her in your arms and embrace. Your face is kissed again and again and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet .
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together , never again to be separated .


REMEMBER ME WHEN I AM GONE AWAY
GONE FAR AWAY INTO THE SILENT LAND
WHEN YOU CAN NO MORE HOLD ME BY THE HAND
NOR I HALF TURN TO GO YET TURNING STAY .
REMEMBER ME WHEN NO MORE DAY BY DAY
YOU TELL ME OF OUR FUTURE THAT YOU PLANNED
ONLY REMEMBER ME , YOU UNDERSTAND
IT WILL BE LATE TO COUNSEL THEM OR PRAY.

I have always said that I would rather be around animals than people and it's so true..if I could I would open some sort of rescue for animals...there are several around me here..I visited one and brought some dog foods and stuff for the guys...they were so appreciative..they work so hard..wish I had the time to do this kind of work...I would really love to help animals...great story Maudie...Hugs Char...
